Squirrel Squad
20-45 minutes

The game-table nest

Bring one or two games you already own and enjoy with four players. Familiar beats complicated this weekend.

  • Start with the easiest favorite, not a long rules explanation.
  • Play one round, then decide together whether another sounds fun.
  • Keep snacks and conversation within easy reach. Nobody needs to keep a tournament score.

Bring: a favorite four-player game or a deck of cards.
Best moment: Friday evening or Saturday's open afternoon.

10 minutes, or longer

The good-stories round

One question at a time, with absolutely no requirement to take turns or finish the list.

  • What's a tiny thing making life better lately?
  • Which Squirrel Squad memory still makes you laugh?
  • What would your ideal completely free day look like?
  • What's something you'd love us to do together next year?

Bring: just yourselves.
House rule: anyone can pass; let the conversation wander.

15-30 minutes

The fresh-air intermission

An easy daylight stroll, not a hike or tourist expedition. Choose this only if everyone wants to go and the property has a suitable permitted route.

  • Check the forecast and footing, then decide at the door.
  • Stay on established, permitted paths; do not assume riverbank access from the management website.
  • Turn back whenever you like. Indoor alternative: a window-side chat and something warm.

Bring: warm layers and grippy, weatherproof shoes.
Best moment: late Saturday morning. No route or access has been verified for your specific home.

As long as you like

Parallel play, grown-up edition

Same room, different quiet pleasures. You do not have to entertain each other every minute to enjoy being together.

  • Read, work on a puzzle you bring, knit, journal, or simply look out the window.
  • Choose soft background music together, or enjoy the quiet.
  • Wander back into conversation whenever it happens naturally.

Bring: a book or quiet hobby, if you want one.
Best moment: the protected Saturday afternoon downtime block.

A moment to remember

A tiny weekend time capsule

A few photos of the whole squad, a beautifully ordinary moment, or the view outside. Memories of how it felt to be here together.

No photo shoot. Just the good little things you want to keep.

Saturday / Entirely optional

A little wander in Leavenworth.

An unhurried change of scenery, if the mood strikes. Head into Leavenworth for a stroll, then return to the quiet of the house whenever we're ready.

No must-see list, no full afternoon required. Staying in with a book or a board game is an equally lovely option.
